Biography: When Benjamin was in Sweden, God directed him to move to Dagenham and start a church that was "full of the Word, full of the Spirit, full of the nations and full of love." Benjamin and Amanda followed God's direction, and Tree of Life Church began in 2010. The church moved into a hall which they are close to outgrowing, at times having standing room only until the children are dismissed. Although Dagenham has a reputation for being an area with a lot of racism, Benjamin and Amanda are bringing racial unity and harmony to the town. They currently have 15 nationalities at church on Sunday, and that number continues to grow.
The focus of the church is the complete work of Christ and making disciples. They currently have eight cell groups called Living Churches which meet midweek in homes. Their goal is to appoint a community pastor over each set of five Living Churches who will visit the groups once a month and encourage them. Amanda runs the amazing children's ministry called ROOTZ. The children in the program call it the highlight of their week. They also have a nursery program called Seedlings. Their youth ministry is called XCEL which meets on Monday nights. The church reaches beyond their walls, reaching out to help those who help others in Burundi and Jerusalem.
Strengths: Benjamin and Amanda are pastors, with Benjamin being a gifted teacher and preacher who inspires and encourages those who hear. He is an organizer and planner as well. Amanda has a heart for children.
