Biography: Pentecostal Church of Uganda in Masindi, which began in 2000, is the third largest church in the town, with nine cell groups throughout the town. Cell groups are used as an evangelism tool as well as allowing the church members to become relational.
They minister to nursery-aged children and have a children’s department with a choir. Children are taught to minister to children with skits, concerts dance and drama. The youth have activities designed to reach schools, colleges and prisons, as well as camps and conferences where they can invite saved and unsaved friends. They also hold mini-crusades in villages and are involved in door-to-door evangelism.
Charles and Joyce intend to start a youth community center to reach out to the entire community and will be operated with the help of their youth, parents, youth service providers, schools, business community groups and local government departments. They plan to offer individual and group counseling, skill development, education, recreational and direct service programs.
Strengths: Charles and Joyce are gifted administrators who are also church planters and teachers. Charles says he enjoys evangelism most of all.
