God's M.O.

God's M.O. (Method of Operations) is perfect. So, perhaps giving our attention to some of the ways He operates in His Cosmos/People Business would be worthwhile. When you think about how God built everything from scratch (including us) and maintains it all without a hitch, what can we learn from His words on business building?

Task Responsibility. In Mark 4: 26-29, we read a parable about how the farming business works. The tasks are divided up appropriately. We scatter seed upon the ground and then sleep and get up and sleep and get up while ... God causes the seed to sprout and grow and increase and ... We are amazed because we know not how! Then ... God causes the seed to produce, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear and when the grain is ripe and permits, immediately ... and We send forth reapers (our team) and put in the sickle because the harvest stands ready.

It's so important to delegate task responsibility to maximize everyone's skill sets. In this story, it's good to remember that our part is to plant, sleep, be amazed and cash in. His part is to cause growth, multiply, produce.

Decision Making 101. Reading John 5:30 Jesus says, "I am able to do nothing from Myself ... but only as I am taught of God and as I get His orders ... " Agonizing over decisions only produces stress in our lives. Let's remember to imitate Jesus style of decision making process: Make no decisions from our own knowledge. Give God the opportunity to teach us and get His orders and perspective. And listen to Him so that we hear our orders and follow through.

Work Enjoyment. Matthew 11: 28-30 is the famous invitation that we've discussed before but is well worth reviewing. The last part presents really good news on God's M.O. on the job - work enjoyment: "... I will cause you to rest. I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls ... My yoke (work) is light and easy to be borne."

We get to come to God with our burdens, stresses and unholy worries, receive His relief and refreshment in our soul, take His way of doing things into our heart, learn from Him, trust Him, believe Him and the results? Enjoy work that is not harsh, hard, sharp or pressing but good, comfortable, gracious, pleasant, light and easy to do!

This is really where it's at. I have been considering where to get education for my business decisions. Alike Adam the tempter had tempted me with scarcity to look at sources other than God's choice, Himself. Should I go back to school, go to the library, ect. You see these are all possibilities, but God wants to be the one to direct you and be your source. Today He took me through His Word and showed me the beginning of world's economy and He ended with leading me to the beginning and advent of His Kingdom now and shortly to come. I knew I was following the Spirit when The Lord told me to go to Luke 20 and then read through 21. This is end of the temple in Jerusalem, the fullness of the Gentiles, and His resurrected Kingdom to come. God's economy. This was economics 101 with God, with all things considered. This put a very relevant spin on my decisions. His Kingdom is at the doors and is coming quickly. Go to God for your source of any need - let him educate you with His wisdom for business. Read what the Spirit gave me today, know the season you are living in!
