Euro Men's Conference and Uganda Trip Report

Jim Whiting is a nurse who has been to Africa several times, including FMIN trips. He is a member of FMIN Partners, Ed and Mona Shirley's church in Colorado. He has returned from yet another trip to Uganda and has sent us this report.

"I have had an awesome time traveling to England for the European Men's Conference and then on to Africa for a week in Uganda.

FMIN Partners Charles and Florence Busiingye were my hosts in Kampala where we provided a 1/2 day medical clinic, visited two nearby schools and visited the Mityana District of Uganda. Florence, who is a Nurse Midwife, is working hard to begin a school of nursing and we were able to meet a district official and discuss Florence's nursing school proposal.

Praise God, the district is in support of Florence's vision and has agreed to provide some regular financing. Please keep her in your prayers as she works to obtain more financing, textbooks and equipment.

I traveled to Lira by bus with Charles as my traveling partner and guide. We ate such things as grilled bananas along the way.

We met FMIN Partner Ambrose Aboko and Dr. Etum Alex in the Masindi District. We provided medical clinics at three sites: Masindi, Abako Assembly and Lira. Dr. Alex led the clinics and I was able to purchase medications at a local pharmacy with medical mission funds.

Ambrose and his wife, Clear, graciously received and fed us in their small two room home. Clear is pregnant and due to give birth very soon. We were not able to reach Ambrose�s home district due to a drive shaft issue on the car, but we did get back to Lira in time to have a clinic at his church there.

I met pastors at each location and was especially blessed at Abako Assembly by an African greeting. Please pray for all these people as the Lord leads them daily.
