Youth Conference in Uganda

by: Frank and Susan Tibagendeka

New Partners, Frank and Susan Tibagendeka held a Youth Conference in Uganda December 6 - 11, 2010. Frank tells us, "During the youth conference, we saw the hand of God move in the youths as they were able to acquire and be equipped with youth skills and teachings that can take them into another level. The main theme for this convention was 'How can a young man keep his way pure . . . so as to benefit his/ her country and for the expansion of the kingdom of God (Psalms 119:9)'. Among the topics tackled included vision, purity of life, youth and ministry, HIV/Aids, work, creativity and getting rid of extreme poverty, relationships, patriotism, education, morals in community, purpose driven life . . . etc.

The conference was also open to non-believers. During the event we saw many youths surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior, and those who had back slidden repented and recommitted their lives to Jesus Christ. You can see them being prayed for in some of the attached photos. The youths went through Bible quiz, they had fun and played football, volley ball and net ball with the community people as a way of winning other youths to Christ.

The youths are the leaders of tomorrow and in this generation some churches have relaxed in helping the youths. It is high time the church wakes up if we are to save the future generation. Therefore, in our ministry, we prioritize the youth ministry and then other ministries."

Please enjoy the photos.
