God Cares

"We don't live by faith by reading a rule book, or following a map, or working through a career development program, or following the arrows. We don't begin with things, or pieces of paper, or ideas, or feelings, or deeds, or successes. We begin with God. We dare to believe that God cares who we are, knows who we are. We dare to believe that God is the reality beyond and beneath and around all things, visible and invisible, and that He provides for us and loves and blesses and saves us." God cares. He cares about the tiniest detail of your routine life. He cares if you are in the midst of a business crisis or personal financial crisis. He cares if there is relational trauma around you within your family or employees or coworkers. He cares if you are dealing with sudden health issues. God simply cares. Not limited caring. Not cautious caring. But, free and wildly lavish care.

Recently, I read a story that touched my heart about this personal extravagant "God care." It was experienced by a lady who told how she loved the Eastern Bluebird and that seeing one of these bright blue creatures always translated God's love to her . . . like a glimpse of His omnipresence in her life. Later, she moved to an urban setting and seeing a bluebird was practically impossible.

She related that once in really tough times, she struggled with feeling God's presence. It was in that phase of her life on a cold day with only winter showing its color, out of nowhere a bluebird flitted in front of her car. Pleased with the rarity of the moment, she knew that God was thinking of her. Then, suddenly she noticed another bluebird on a fence post, his colors still vibrant through her tear-filled eyes. Following this astounding display of His love and care, she couldn't believe that outside her office window in a tree, there was yet another blue bird! As she stood up to confirm this miracle, she spotted another bluebird in the brush behind the tree - and nearby, four more!

Yes, God's care was multiplied over and over to this needy soul. And the same kind of care is there for you and me. He is personal. He is on time. He is complete.

Ephesians 3:20 in the Message Bible says, "God can do anything, you know - far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us."

My friend, dare to believe - God cares.
