Tourist Season
by: Ellene Meece
Many parts of the world are in their ?tourist season,? which means it?s time to travel outside of the local area and discover new things.
For your traveling convenience, there are road maps, brochures, printed tour guides with suggested activities in the area, and lodging and eating recommendations. And sometimes your very own tour guide to physically accompany you!
Did you know that on the journey of life it?s always tourist season? There is always a fresh adventure?and another day to discover new things! We have our very own printed tour guide and map within the written Word. And, we have our very own assigned Tour Guide, the Holy Spirit, to point out the sights and make sure we don?t miss a thing!
John 16:13 declares, ?But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.?
The Greek word for guide in this verse is hodēgeō, which among other amplifications means tour guide. The Holy Spirit has His credentials to be our personal tour guide. He shows us the shortest route, the road with the spectacular views and the greatest adventures, the passageway that introduces us to the right people, the highway with sufficient amenities, and the best direction to fulfill His plan for our lives.
Planning a trip is fun! But, having your very own tour guide (one who has been there before you and checked out all the possibilities) is amazing.
Don?t leave home without Him! Enjoy this tourist season in comfort; comfort of the Holy Spirit.
