A Task . . . Bigger Than You
by: Ellene Meece
The famous English sculptor, Henry Moore from Yorkshire, was asked a pointed question by Donald Hall, an accomplished literary critic, "Now that you are eighty, you must know the secret of life. What is it?"
Reportedly, Henry Moore paused ever so slightly, with just enough time to smile before answering. "The secret of life," he mused, "is to have a task, something you do your entire life, something you bring everything to, every minute of the day for your whole life. And the most important thing is: It must be something you cannot possibly do."
Today, if you feel overwhelmed with the task at hand, be encouraged! You see, God has a plan for your life and He is the One who has chosen you to live it. If the task before you seems impossible and is not anything you can do on your own, relying on Him for the power and ability will culminate into the richest kind of life ever thought possible.
Ephesians 2: 10 Amplified confirms,
For we are God's own handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, born anew that we may do those good works which God predestined-- planned beforehand for us taking paths which He prepared ahead of time, that we should walk in them, living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live.
In the workplace, we often have all kinds of tips to accomplish our tasks and ways to track each goal. In the midst of utilizing task management tools, just remember that dependence on the One who planned your days and all the "good works" you will ever have on your list, is the One who will give abundant strength to accomplish each one.
