Joy Comes in the Morning

Heavy workloads mixed with complicated people issues often leave us weary and allow our creativity and motivation to leak out. Sometimes, we find ourselves hemmed in with problems on every side!
Problem solving is the central aspect of any business, family situation or personal affairs. Everyday we are presented with countless opportunities to let a problem overcome us and steal our joy or . . . we can take the problem to the next level and overcome it!
Matthew 11:28 NLT says, "Come to Me, all of you who work and have heavy loads. I will give you rest." The first step in any problem-solving situation is: "Come to Me." What a relief at night when your adrenalin has kicked in and controversial conversations are playing in your head, to say, "Father, I come to You. Take this heavy load. Let me sleep. Show me how I can be a part of the solution. And in the morning, may Your joy rule in my life."
In The Message, Matthew 11:28-30, says it this way: "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me--watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."
Second step is learning how God works. In this position, we can receive an attitude adjustment in ourselves. Most of the time, we can't change people and we can't change circumstances but we can change our own attitude and how we look at the situation. Stepping out of the circle and allowing God to show us the core issues at hand often dissolves high emotions and brings clarity.
Last, recognize that no problem, conflict or trial is bigger than God. God always has a way out, a plan, a place to safely land. In reading I Corinthians 10:13, we often apply this only to being tempted beyond our ability to resist some sin. But, in the Amplified, it also uses the word "trial" with the explanation that no trial is without a way of escape. "But God is faithful to His Word and to His compassionate nature, and He can be trusted not to let you be . . . tried beyond your ability and strength . . . to endure, but will always provide the way out . . . the means of escape to a landing place that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently."
Allowing God's Grace to save us from our own feeble efforts will give us the positive results we crave. We will be capable, strong, powerful and living freely and lightly! And for sure when the night is over . . . there will be joy in the morning.
